Top Trends from Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2017

The seventh edition of Style House files yearly, Lagos fashion and design week, sponsored by Heineken, held last week was filled with spectacular individualistic style, both on and off the runway. The event which held at the HKLFDW tents in Eko Atlantic city saw the best of Nigeria, Africa and international designers, showcasing their fabulous style creations, to a fascinated audience.

From the nostalgia invoked by Lannre Da Silvia revamped Vintage vibes, SIsiano’s fringe and tassels glamour, Ejiro Amos Taffiri’s sensual breezy fabulousity to Orange Culture and Tokyo James fashion forward male apparels, this year fashion week offered fashion lovers a veritable cove of style treasures.

Trends obviously here to stay, as seen by its overwhelming presence on the runway at the fashion week include, extravagant ruffles and frills, supersized puffy sleeves, pleats/ prints, cut-out skirts, wide flair pants, maxi and midis, drape sheer maxi tunics, bust bands, crops, bandage dress and tailored androgynous play suits.

In preparing your style wardrobe for next year, envision a mix between the 70s and 90s cosmopolitan fashionista about town and style or buy accordingly. Here are my top style picks from the #HKLFDW17.
